Our association strives to provide relevant and interesting information and opportunities for professional and personal growth. Following is a list and brief description of the services we currently offer our members.
You can look forward to receiving at least three informative and fun to read newsletters each year. Our newsletters are a way for you to get to know who works on the GSDA board, learn of upcoming CE, networking, and volunteer event’s, and the newsletters provide information about legislation concerning our profession.
GSDA plans two conferences each year at which you can earn CE credits and they are offered at an unbeatable price. We also hold regular meetings for Journal Club to discuss current research and sometimes enjoy the outdoors when weather permits. Look for emails and information on the calendar page about upcoming conferences and meetings.
Member Google Group (aka our listserv)
Our members-only Google Group is private; we do not sell or distribute our members contact information to anyone. The Google Group is a great place to hear about job openings, GSDA sponsored events, conferences, and a place to bounce nutrition questions or dilemmas around amongst colleagues. You will be invited to join the group when you join GSDA.
Volunteer events provide opportunities for dietitians to get recognized in the community, to network and to have fun! Past events include walking in the Heart Walk, Diabetes Walk, and the Seattle Marathon. Additionally, members have cooked a meal at Ronald McDonald House, participated in the KCTS pledge drive, helped Habitat for Humanity. Events are advertised via our newsletter, our Facebook page and the member Google Group.
Do you want to receive referrals? Perhaps grow a private practice? Do you need low cost marketing opportunities? The referral list can help you acquire clients. It will be a great, free way for you to advertise your specialty and practice to other dietitians and the public. It also serves as a great resource for those of us who need to refer clients on for more assistance. This is a free service for our members so there is no additional cost to be added to the referral list. The list is available for viewing by the public. If you’d like to be added to this list contact the GSDA Media Chair.
