Public Relations:
I recently relocated to Seattle from Raleigh, NC and have served on the GSDA board for 2 years. As Public Relations Co-Chair, myself and Cindy hope to continue to bring members together for fun, philanthropic, and informative events. Being involved in the local dietetic association is extremely rewarding to me to network with fellow dietitians, and continue to be an advocate for our profession on a local and state level. I am currently an outpatient dietitian working at PRO Sports Club specializing in Weight Management, Pediatrics, and Eating Disorders.

I am currently entering my second year as a graduate student at the University of Washington. Serving as a board member of GSDA will no doubt supplement my education by allowing me to collaborate with other professionals in the field. I look forward to planning continuing education opportunities that are relevant, timely, and entertaining!

I am currently working in my dietetic internship through the graduate coordinated program of dietetics at University of Washington. I will be completing my masters in Public Health Nutrition at the end of this year. I am looking forward to working with the GSDA because I want to connect with professionals working in dietetics in my community.

Nominating Committee:
I'm a recent graduate of the WSU Coordinated Program in Dietetics, now working as a long-term care dietitian in the south-Seattle region. This coming year 2011-2012 I will be serving on the GSDA Board as a member of the Nominating Committee. Through this position I hope to increase membership, ease the transition of new members into existing positions and network with fellow RD's and DTR's in the Seattle and surrounding areas.

I'm currently an MBA candidate at University of Washington, and I look forward to increasing the presence of GSDA in the Seattle community.

I am a senior dietetics student at Seattle Pacific University and am enjoying learning more and more about this awesome field every day. I am excited to work and network with Registered Dietitians in the Seattle area, and help recruit other dietetics students to participate in GSDA events, so they too can learn about the great work that Dietitians are doing in our city.
*New Positions*
Dietetic Technician Representative: GSDA would like to invite a DTR to join our dynamic board for the 2011-2012 membership year. Work alongside RD's to provide nutrition education to the community, support other local efforts surrounding healthful eating and network with other nutritional professionals. This position would also work toward improving membership in GSDA by other local DTR's. There are also opportunities to earn Continuing Education credits throughout the year.
Lifetime Achievement Award: For those who have provided a lifetime of dedication to the nutrition community, GSDA would like to nominate a recipient for the 2011-2012 Lifetime Achievement Award. This opportunity would highlight a nutrition professional in the Seattle area that has gone above and beyond for others. Interested in these positions, or know someone who may be?
