Kate WatsonLearn about the low-FODMAP diet for IBS

Kate Watson, RD, will be speaking about irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and FODMAPs (fermentable oligo- di- and monosaccharides and polyols). The low-FODMAP diet is the only research based diet proven for the treatment of IBS, but it can be confusing and complicated to implement. In this session we will learn about the science behind FODMAPs and how they cause IBS symptoms, who the diet is best suited for, special considerations for cultural differences and vegans/vegetarians, and practical tips for implementing the diet with your patients.

FODMAP-friendly snacks provided + a fun networking activity!

Cost: $10 members, $20 non-members, $5 student members (cash or check only at event).

Location detail: We’ll be in Room 3 in the main building at Phinney Neighborhood Center.
