Join us for our last CE event of the membership year: a virtual book club! We will be reading and discussing The Better Brain: Overcome Anxiety, Combat Depression, and Reduce ADHD and Stress with Nutrition by Bonnie J. Kaplan, PhD and Julia J. Rucklidge, PhD. This book provides a deep discussion on how to approach the mental health crisis in the US by changing our diets. Instead of relying on prescription drugs, Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Rucklidge present how changing the way we eat can alter the functioning of the brain. Come join the discussion as we dive into some of the clinical research on the healing power of nutrients (vitamins and minerals) and how they impact the brain. You do not have to finish the book to come to the book club!

Writer Bios: Dr. Bonnie Kaplan is a research psychologist and a semi-retired professor at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine. For many years she studied the role of nutrition in mental health and brain development. Dr. Julia Rucklidge is a professor of Psychology and a Clinical Psychologist in the School of Psychology, Speech and Hearing at the University of Canterbury. She is also the Director of Te Puna Toiora, the Mental Health and Nutrition Research Lab, and a research theme leader in the Child Wellbeing Institute.
