Join us for an informative presentation by Lucy Ledezma  MS, RD, CNSC on Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS), a condition when a patient lacks sufficient bowel length or function to support nutrient needs. This presentation will provide an overview of SBS, describe the nutrition implications and the role of the RDN in the treatment & management of this condition.

Lucy is a registered dietitian and CNSC. She is a field medical educator for Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where she focuses on the short bowel syndrome therapeutic area. Prior to joining Takeda, she worked in a variety of clinical settings from outpatient, to inpatient trauma, as well as research. Lucy has a Master’s degree in nutrition and exercise physiology from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is currently a doctoral student at Rutgers University, where she is studying for her doctorate in clinical nutrition.

Lucy lives in Orange County, California with her husband and two children, aged 4 and 1.5. She enjoys running and other outdoor activities and is an active ultra runner who has run 5 races of more than 100 miles, including a 200-mile race around the Tahoe Rim Trail.
