To celebrate Chinese New Year, come learn the basics of making delicious dumplings from anthropologist Ann Anagnost. In this class you will learn about Chinese culture, cooking techniques, and take home new recipes. We will be making four different kinds of dumplings: traditional pork dumplings, Muslim beef dumplings, Buddhist vegetarian, and gluten-free “pearl balls.” Let’s have some fun, network and eat delicious food!

Cost: $15 GSDA members, $25 non-members (pay at event with check or cash)

Professor Anagnost is a professor of anthropology at UW, where she conducts research as well as teaches about the cultural politics of diet and nutrition. She also directs a study abroad program every fall in Rome on the Politics of Food.
